Med.in.NRW - Sensor-integrated Patient Support

Overview

Time efficient and intuitive handling is essential for the correct and robust detection of vital signs as well as for exact navigation of instruments during diagnosis and therapy. In this project a sensorintegrated patient support system(SensoPaL) which will be used on a stretcher or an intervention table for contact free detection of heart activity and magnetic localization of medical tools (such as catheters). Fields of application are emergency medical aid, anesthesia or intensive care. The data acquisition begins immediately after placing the patient on the support. The removal of clothing of the application of electrodes is no longer necessary. Distortions of the magnetic tracking will be automatically compensated.

SensoPaL was selected as Project of the Month March 2010 by the Ministry of Economic Affairs of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia!
