In the framework of the SOMIT initiative (Gentle Surgery with Innovative Technology) of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), concepts for the planning and performing surgery in the fields of orthopaedics, liver surgery and head surgery are developed. The three consortia OrthoMIT, FUSION und CoHS cooperate in four cross section projects. The Chair of Medical Engineering participates in three of them:
The SOMIT projects were funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
