Med.in.NRW - Integrated workstation for head surgery INKA

Project objectives are the development, implementation and evaluation of an Integrated workstation for head surgery (INKA). The workstation includes modular aligned components of image acquisition and integration, hybrid position sensors and navigation, mechatronic retaining and assistance systems with standardized interfaces between technical modules as well as interfaces for man-machine communication. The focus of development is put on applications in the field of neurosurgery and ENT surgery. Innovative single components are implemented, such as hybrid localization and navigation modules, a planning-controlled automatic retaining and assistance system and a minirobotic end effector control for endoscopic manipulation and milling operations. Furthermore novel solutions for the problems of data exchange and risk management for integrated modular surgery systems in a modular innovative product concept of the participating SMEs are realized.
