Appointment of Dr.-Ing. Wolfgang Lauer as Honorary Professor in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at RWTH Aachen University

We congratulate Dr.-Ing. Wolfgang Lauer on his appointment as Honorary Professor in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at RWTH Aachen University.

Wolfgang Lauer studied Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Engineering Design at RWTH Aachen University and received his Dr.-Ing. at mediTEC in 2008 with the development of a semi-robotic telemanipulation platform for an electronic surgical microscope.

From 2005 to 2011, he was a senior engineer at mediTEC and led the "Medical system ergonomics and safety" research team.

He is very active both in regulatory and scientific terms, particularly in the areas of safety and performance of medical devices and digital healthcare at national and European level.

He has been sharing his technical expertise and experience since 2018, including as part of the mediTEC course "Regulatory Affairs for Medical Devices".
